Office Team

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How does the scheme work?

A. The bags will be treated as any other product code and can be ordered via your Account Manager or usual ordering process.

When we deliver your goods, our OfficeTeam drivers will check for recycling sacks. Any full, sealed sacks will be collected and placed in an expandable cargo net in the van and brought back to the local units.

Sacks will be placed in containers at the local units and collected by our EcoTeam paper supplier for recycling when they deliver to our OfficeTeam units.

Q. What happens to the paper I send back for recycling?

A. All paper will be taken back and sorted in our paper supplier's fibre pool. Paper is then manufactured into our unique EcoTeam paper.

Q. What happens to the plastic sacks that are taken away with the paper for recycling?

A. We've selected plastic sacks because they are the most economic and effective way of transporting the waste within our system. When full, the sacks weigh about 15kg, which can be comfortably handled within Health & Safety guidelines. The plastic we use is recyclable and once used, the sacks are compacted and recycled into new plastic sacks and other products.

Q. I already have a paper recycling service, what other benefits does this recycling service have compared to my current service?

A. The vehicle that delivers your office products is also the vehicle that will collect your used paper. Combining deliveries and collections saves on pollution, congestion and reduces the carbon footprint of the process.

Customers know exactly what happens to their paper waste, removing concerns of paper being disposed of inappropriately. Two-thirds of high-grade paper waste sent for recycling is used for tissue paper production, which needless to say cannot be recovered and used again! Do you really know what happens to your paper with your current recycling service?

The process we use ensures that the paper fibre is reused 6-7 times before the fibres recovered in the recycling process become too short and weak for use in quality paper products.

Our scheme is a closed loop recycling system, which converts paper used by our customers back into EcoTeam paper for use over and over again.

Q. How do I get onto the Close the Loop Initiative?

A. Fill in the enclosed EcoTeam Close the Loop Registration Form and hand this to your Account Manager. Once this is completed, all you need todo is order your recycling sacks via your normalordering methods.

Q. I want a recycling service where I do not need to sort my waste; all products for recycling are placed in one bin. Is this something OfficeTeam intend to do?

A. We are offering our 'Close the Loop' service to clients who don't have a paper collection facility or for clients who can see that the reduced carbon footprint of having paper collected on the same van that delivers, is environmentally advantageous.

If you are happy with your current recycling service then we are happy for you to continue as you are.

Currently OfficeTeam will not be providing a full waste collection service.

Q. Can I track the amount of paper my company recycles?

A. Currently we can track this by providing a report on the number of sacks you have ordered.

Q. How secure is the EcoTeam Close the Loop recycling scheme?

A. If your paper contains confidential information, we recommend that you shred it before we collect it.

If you would like to use our confidential shredding service, please ask your Account Manager for details.
