Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

This October, OfficeTeam is proud to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With breast cancer being the second most common cancer in women with nearly 55,000 women diagnosed every year, we believe it is vital to highlight the importance of breast awareness, education and research.

Many people believe breast cancer only affects women and, despite cases being rare, there are around 350 men diagnosed each year in the UK.

The pink ribbon and wearing pink clothing are both symbols of the current work taking place to help campaign against cancer, as well as serving as a reminder of the work left to do.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

Make a difference. Spread the word and educate one another.

Thanks to the money raised, organisations like Cancer Research can undertake research which has proved successful with more than two thirds of women now surviving the disease for 20 years or more. Their work underpins today’s treatments and has helped save many thousands of lives.

Get Involved

From sporting challenges and walks to social events, there are plenty of ways to get involved in the campaign. For more ideas take a look at some of the suggestions from Breast Cancer Care
